6801.500 Complexity
Located on the mainstem of the Lemhi River just downstream of Baker. This reach of the Lemhi River is critical Spring Chinook rearing habitat. Current habitat conditions limited & simplified. The former braided channel network has been simplified into what is now a single thread with little habitat or floodplain access. The single-thread channel is fast & contains limited structure, resulting in few areas for resting & marginal rearing habitat for juvenile fish. IDFG requested Reclamation’s technical assistance to help plan & design Subreach 1 (lead role after concept) & Subreach 4 (advisory/support role). IDFG has obtained landowner support to include a substantial easement.
